I attended the clinic as a recommendation from my doctor and on arrival booked into reception and waited around one hour to be seen. I was then assessed but told i could not have the eye test as i had driven there and could not drive for four hours if the test (pupil dilation) was done. This was fair as i hadn't checked beforehand. I returned the following day having arranged transport and again booked in and waited around 20 minutes before seeing the asesment nurse. I had the drops put in to dilate my pupils for the test and was told i should be seen within 30 minutes. I waited roughly 1 hour and 45 minutes before my name was called. The doctor then informed me that my card had been misplaced and i should have been seen a lot earlier, i was only called as one of the nurses had noticed i had been waiting a long time. My eye test was carried out professionally in around 10 minutes and the doctor was very helpful. I'm only pleased my transport wasn't waiting in the excessively overpriced car park £2 per hour is ridiculous. I feel the system in place needs to be updated so that patients can be given a number or their name is put up on an allen bradley type data board which shows where you are in a queue. I was sitting thinking that others were more of a priority when in fact my card had gone missing. Overall the staff are friendly, Professional and informative but he clinic needs updating with modern technology.

I attended the hospital as my 9 year old son had a seed in his eye which our doctor was unable to remove. We did not have to wait long until we were helped by a team of helpful, caring, professionals. Both my son and I were extremely impressed by the treatment he received and quite frankly felt very proud of our NHS. I saw nothing that could be improved.

The staff were welcoming. I saw three members of staff during my visit - a nurse and two doctors - all were extremely reassuring and explained in "ordinary" language what was happening/going to happen at each stage. The only negative comment I can think of relates to seating in the waiting area and I do appreciate that very little can be done about this. By mid morning seats were in extremely short supply. If you are attending the clinic alone, if you are sent back out to wait - after having drops, etc. your seat will probably have been taken by someone and you may have to stand. As I have said, I appreciate the difficulties and it's tiny in relation to the care and attention of the staff during investigation/treatment.

On my first visit to the Hospital I was attended to fairly quickly in the Emergency Department of the hospital. Receptionists, Doctors and Nurses alike were very proficient in what they had to do. It will always be a problem for anyone having eye problems, always thinking about what if? My mind was put at rest very early and I am now awaiting my first appointment at clinic.

An absolutely brilliant service, much respected by all users. Waiting times can be lengthy but are understood by the majority who use the brilliant service. Staff very knowledgeable and caring.

For what was initially a frightening experience, I cannot praise the nursing staff enough for putting me at ease and making the procedure painless. Thank you for you care and professionalism, greatly appreciated. Special thanks to sister Carol Weatherstone for her patience and diligence. What more can I say other than thank you.
